Chicago Bears Inactives vs Packers

Bear fans got some good news today with the announcement that both Matt Forte and Alshon Jeffery are active and ready to play against the Green Bay Packers in their Thanksgiving night match-up. It’s unknown how healthy each player is and whether or not they will get their usual amount of touches.

I don’t think the Bears would play Forte unless he was at least close to 100% with no limitations. Jeffery, on the other hand, could be used as more of a decoy like he was against the Rams with only four targets.

For the Packers the only relative surprise is that starting center Corey Linsley is inactive due to an injury he suffered last week against the Vikings. The Packers are also missing DB Micah Hyde and WR Ty Montogmery but both were expected to be out.

There were no real surprises among the Bears inactives and the full list is below with some commentary.

Bears Week 12 Inactives

S Antrel Rolle – With Rolle out again this week it means Chris “Conte” Prosinski is back in the starting lineup. Gross. Aaron Rodgers is going to pick him apart.

TE Martellus Bennett – Hasn’t made much of an impact the last few weeks, but the Bears will miss his run blocking. Zach Miller could have a huge game as the Bears TE1.

WR Eddie Royal – Hasn’t played enough for Bear fans to know what they are missing.

RB Ka’Deem Carey – He’s been a valuable inside runner for the Bears, but with Forte back rookie Jeremy Langford should move into Carey’s short-yardage role.

DE Will Sutton – Recent signing and St. Rita grad Bruce Gaston will be taking over for Sutton as the starting DE. Gaston is auditioning for a role in 2016 and has made some impressive plays the last two weeks.
