The Chicago Bears are back! Yes, fine, they’ve been back for a few weeks now, but how much preseason football can one fan watch? I know we all held our breath to see if Kieran Duncan would be able to break through or if Kevin Peterson would be as good as he claimed he was (the answer to both those questions was a firm “No.”), but let’s be honest- we need real actual football that mattered.

Fortunately for all Bears fans, actual football is back and NostraButkus is here to tell you what is going to happen in the game before it actually does. I’ve peered into my crystal ball and have seen the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful and everything in between.

The Bears kick off their season with a 1pm ET start in the Lone Star State to face the Houston Texans. The Bears have plenty in flux this season as GM Ryan Pace continued to overhaul the roster. Plenty of new faces are on both sides of the ball. From a year ago, the offense will be starting six new players. On defense, we will see four new starters (I’m not counting Willie Young in for Pernell McPhee). Not to mention the major churn on the rest of the roster.

Teams usually respond and have significant improvements in John Fox’s second year as the head coach of the team, we will see if the Bears respond in kind. But with the season’s first game so close you can taste it, here are five bold predictions for Sunday’s game vs the Texans.
