2016 Season Review

The Chicago Bears signed Robertson-Harris as a UDFA out of UTEP. RRH is an athletic specimen with a huge 6’7 frame. He was expected to push at an outside linebacker position, but an illness landed him on the nonfootball injury list where he spent the entire 2016 season.

2017 Outlook

Bears’ fans fell in love with the idea of RRH and what he can bring to the table. His measurables are off the charts and he definitely could be an undrafted steal, but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.

More from Bear Goggles On

RRH is hopeful to make the Chicago Bears roster this year. The Bears have new plans for him and have moved him to defensive end. Harris gained almost 20 lbs of muscle in the offseason and according to reports, hasn’t lost any of his agility or speed.

The Bears will put him the defensive end group with Akiem Hicks, Mitch Unrein, Jonathan Bullard and Jaye Howard and hope he can earn a roster spot and become a rotational player this year. The question is if he needs more time to develop, can the Bears stash him on the practice squad without another team scooping him up and stashing him on their 53-man roster?

Future with Bears

It’s impossible to project RRH’s future at this point. The Bears are hopeful he can contribute at defensive end, and if he shows promise, he should be able to earn a spot out of camp. However, he’s still a project and may find himself released this year and on another roster.

RRH’s training camp and preseason performance will be critical as he tries to earn himself a roster spot and become the player several Bears’ fans think he can be.
