The Bear Goggles On Countdown to Kickoff series is now underway. With 56 days to go until the Bears season kicks off we will highlight offensive lineman, Taylor Boggs.

Boggs wears number 57, but so does Dan Skuta. If Boggs makes the team there is a good chance he will change his number. Since Skuta was highlighted yesterday, today the focus is on Boggs.

2016 Review

Boggs spent his 2016 season in Arizona. He was only active for five games, but started in two during the late part of the season. However, Boggs ended the 2016 season on the injured reserved with a shoulder injury. Boggs, an undrafted free agent from 2011 spent two seasons on the Bears in 2013 and 14, but was active for five games combined.

2017 Outlook

Boggs is going to have an uphill climb onto the roster. The Bears interior line is strong on paper. Kyle Long and Josh Sitton are two of the more prominent names in the league, and Cody Whitehair is rising after a strong rookie campaign. Eric Kush saw some starts with injuries at the guard position and looked to be a player worth keeping around as depth. Add in Jordan Morgan, a fifth round draft pick and that it is going to be a long road to a roster spot for Morgan.

Future with the Bears

Boggs future is very much up in the air. He is unlikely to make the team and is out of practice squad eligibility. The Bears will have his number on speed dial, but he will have a chance to put something on tape in the preseason, and could bounce around the league due to injuries.
