The holdout never happened, the Chicago Bears have signed Mitchell Trubisky.

It appears the Chicago Bears rookie quarterback is a man of his word. All along, Mitch Trubisky stated that he will make sure his contract is signed and he will head to camp on time. Trubisky may be a procrastinator, but he certainly is a man of his word.

The Chicago Bears’ rookies are reporting to Halas Hall today to get a head start on camp. Trubisky was on hand and signed his contract. As the official start of training camp kept creeping closer and closer, speculation began to mount if Trubisky would have his contract signed in time. The Bears were never concerned and Trubisky never wavered from his statement that he will be at camp on time.

With the contract now signed, Trubisky and the Bears can focus solely on football and not worry about contract details. Reports were all positive out of OTAs and minicamp about Trubisky’s performance, some reporters even hinting at the fact that Trubisky is already ahead of Mike Glennon.

With rookies reporting to camp and veterans just about a week away, camp is finally arriving, which means football is back. The Bears are obviously in a rebuild, but this should be an exciting season for Bears’ fans, especially if Trubisky finds his way onto the field on Sundays, and based on early returns, that certainly seems like it’s going to happen at some point.
