Cameron Meredith “way ahead of schedule”
One piece of news that is worth noting from Saints OTAs is that Cameron Meredith is completely healthy
This is not going to be a long running series of following the health of Cameron Meredith. However, in this offseason time where everyone is under the microscope, it is interesting to note that Meredith is fully healthy and practicing.
This is a bit newsworthy in Chicago because the Chicago Bears did let Meredith go, and did cite his injury status as a reason for his departure.

Meredith suffered a very serious injury, and while the team had medical records on Allen Robinson and Meredith, they felt comfortable paying Robinson and letting Meredith walk. Meredith is practicing now, Robinson is not.
Now, this is not to say that the Chicago Bears doctors are already wrong, or that this is a bad omen for Robinson.
The fact of the matter is that people heal at different speeds. On top of that, the idea could be that the Bears were less comfortable with what they saw in Meredith longterm when it came to his knee.
They feel that once Robinson is healthy, this is no longer a concern. They may feel it will linger for Meredith.
Then, there is the obvious talent disparity. You are going to take that risk on the upside of Robinson over Meredith. The Saints would trade Meredith for Robinson on the field if they could.
So, while the Bears can take the risk on Robinson, taking the risk on both Robinson and Meredith is too much. Adding Anthony Miller, with less risk and adding Robinson is a solid decision.
Still, long term it will be interesting to see how long Meredith holds up.
