After another heartbreaking loss at the hands of their hated rivals, it’s easy to come up with candidates for the Chicago Bears Week 15 Milk Carton.  In case you’re new to the site, the Milk Carton is the weekly distinction for the member of the team who disappeared and went missing during the game.

Following a loss, these always seem easier to do; there are so many choices.  This week, I’ve chosen running back Michael Bush, who almost literally disappeared in the Bears’ 21-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers.   (more…)

Following Sunday’s devastating 23-17 loss to the Seahawks, there are quite a few worthy candidates for the Bears Week 13 Milk Carton, but for me, there is only one worthy winner, Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith.  In case you’re new to the site, the Milk Carton goes to the Chicago Bear who went missing and disappeared during a given week.

Other nominees for the Milk Carton for me and Brian Urlacher’s hamstring, Chris Conte (someone get that kid some chicken soup!), the defensive ends for not containing Wilson and Earl Bennett for picking the most inopportune time to drop a pass this season.

I know some of you might think Jay Cutler should go on the Milk Carton for getting knocked out of the game and failing to finish, but that’s being a little foolish.  Cutler couldn’t help getting the concussion and to think otherwise is just plain wrong.   (more…)

I’ve decided to flip-flop things a bit this week.  Normally I just pick the Milk Carton and put the Game Ball up for a vote, but I feel like there were so many worthy nominees for the Milk Carton after the miserable performances turned in early before the Bears roared back to steal the 23-22 victory over the Carolina Panthers.  So let’s get to the nominees to see who will grace the Milk Carton. The Week 5 Milk Carton goes to Gabe Carimi, who had a forgettable day to say the least.  While J’Marcus Webb has drawn plenty of attention for his lackluster start to the season, Carimi has flown under the radar.  He was exposed on Sunday, most notably committing back-to-back false start penalties that turned the Bears’ opening second half drive into three points instead of seven.

Let’s cut Gabe some slack, as this is basically his rookie year.  He missed all but the first six quarters of action to a knee injury and spent a better part of the offseason recovering.  I’m not pushing the panic button yet on Carimi, but he’s got some work to do to anchor that right tackle position if the Bears hope to turn their strong 4-1 start into a deep playoff run.

After a stellar performance by the Chicago Bears in their Monday Night Football beatdown of the Dallas Cowboys, I found it’s a little harder to find an appropriate candidate for the Week 4 Milk Carton, which goes to a player who went missing in that week’s game.  But fear not, I am always happy to find some negativity, even in a win.

The Week 4 Milk Carton goes to someone who literally didn’t contribute anything to Monday night’s outcomes and it’s former first round draft pick Chris Williams, who was inactive for the game.  Williams has almost completed his full downward spiral into first round bust status.  He’s gone from competing for the starting left tackle spot to swing tackle to left out in just over a month.  It’s another setback for the Bears, who are likely to part ways with Williams this offseason if not sooner.

There has been some speculation that the Bears could try to trade Williams to some sucker, er, team that wants to give him a fresh start.  With the glut of injuries and overall piss-poor offensive line play around the league, who knows, maybe the Bears can get back that 7th round pick that they traded away for Brian Price in the preseason???
