Bears vs Cowboys Week 2 Madden Simulation

Madden expert Sam rocked an awesome Bears prediction last week and actually nailed the 5 point differential in the Bears’ 19-14 win over the Lions. He also hit on 10 of 16 games straight up in his Week 1 NFL picks. He did so well with his picks, he gave me his exclusive Week 2 games simulated and his predictions found here. Now, on to the Week 2 sim…

The Bears head to Dallas to face Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys. After an unimpressive win over the lowly Lions, things don’t look good for the Bears. Meanwhile, the Cowboys come home to open the 2010 campaign off a disappointing loss to the Washington Redskins.

Things seem to start well for the Bears, as Jay Cutler hooks up with Devin Hester for a 1-yard TD pass:

Bears vs Browns Prediction: Preseason Week 4 Madden Simulation

It’s the preseason for Bear Goggles On too, and we’re trying out a new segment: using a Madden 11 simulation to predict the games. Check it out and tell us what works, what doesn’t work, what we could do to improve the segment. I’ve got to give big props to Sam, his predication for the Chargers game was pretty damn close: he predicted 34-10 Chargers and the game turned out to be 25-10 Chargers but after missing on his Bears-Raiders prediction he bounced back with a pretty accurate prediction for the Bears falling to the Cardinals.

By my count, Sam is 2-1 in the preseason, which is more than I can say for the 0-3 Bears. Oh wait, I forgot, these don’t count so I guess our record is still 0-0. Lovie’s starting to get to me too I guess!

*Note, the sim was run before Brian Urlacher and Jay Cutler were officially ruled out of Thursday night’s preseason finale against the Browns.

We all know that the most meaningless of the meaningless preseason games is the last preseason game. The starters will play a series (if at all) and the biggest focus is getting out injury free. There’s been a lot of hand wringing about the 0-3 start and Bears fans are desperate for any kind of win to get even a smidge of confidence before the Detroit game in Week 1. I’m afraid our Madden sim prediction doesn’t show that to be the case.

It didn’t start off well for the Bears with the Browns opening up a 17-0 halftime lead behind a pair of short TD runs and a Phil Dawson FG. I guess the Bears can’t fool the Madden simulator.

But there were big plays to be had for the Beloved. In the 4th quarter Chester Taylor popped for a short 7 yard TD run:

Madden Simulation: Bears vs Cardinals Preseason Week 3 Prediction

It’s the preseason for Bear Goggles On too, and we’re trying out a new segment: using a Madden 11 simulation to predict the games. Check it out and tell us what works, what doesn’t work, what we could do to improve the segment. I’ve got to give big props to Sam, his predication for the Chargers game was pretty damn close: he predicted 34-10 Chargers and the game turned out to be 25-10 Chargers but it’s back to the drawing board after missing the mark on his Bears-Raiders prediction. Let’s see what’s in store for the Bears vs Cardinals.

*Note, the sim was run before the Cardinals announced that Matt Leinart was getting banished back to the hot tub, so I actually think the Cards will do better than the predicted score.

The Bears will have payback on their minds after the beating they took from Cardinals last year. The Bears offensive line will be looking to bounce back after a rough outing against the Raiders while the defense still has to prove that they can stop someone (ANYONE!) from converting a 3rd and long.

The Madden 11 simulation doesn’t start off well for the Beloved, with all-world receiver Larry Fitzgerald going off for a long score and topped off with a Steve Breaston TD catch before Matt Forte finally breaks through with a second quarter 7-yard TD run:

I think the blue on blue uni’s show better in the game than in real life. I’ve never been a fan of that look for the Bears.

Bears vs Chargers: Madden 11 Prediction

The Bears kick off their preseason schedule on Saturday night when they visit the San Diego Chargers. Thanks to Friend of the Program Sam Solarz and his Madden 11 expertise, we already know how the game is going to turn out.

It started off well with a Charles Tillman pick-6!

And it looks like Devin Aromashodu will have a nice game. Who says the Bears can’t pass protect after seeing this 46-yard bomb?!?!

But at the end of the day, it’s just too much Phillip Rivers as the Bears fell to the Chargers 34-10.
