Doug Plank was one of the most popular Bears’ players of the last forty years. If you attend a Bears’ game at Soldier Field, odds are you will find a few Plank jerseys still floating around. Plank was a hard-hitting safety, and paired with Gary Fencik, was one of the most feared duos in the league. Plank tallied 15 interceptions in his career and recovered a whopping 14 fumbles in a six year stretch.
