Mitch Trubisky made his debut for the Chicago Bears at their rookie camp.

Mitch Trubisky has officially taken the field for the Chicago Bears, even if it’s just the practice field. Trubisky debuted on Friday at the Bears’ rookie minicamp and while he made some errors, overall, the rookie performed well in his first practice.

From Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune:

"On Trubisky’s second-to-last pass, he threw a laser to the left side that tight end Adam Shaheen, the second-round pick, dived for and caught. It was a sight Bears fans can get accustomed to seeing. Earlier in seven-on-seven work Trubisky connected with Sheehan deep down the right sideline. There was one snap in seven-on-seven when he had to throw the ball away after holding it too long. Other than the pick and the throwaway, there were only two other incompletions in 21 passes in team and seven-on-seven drills."

Biggs mentioned previously in the article that a Trubisky did muff two snaps and threw an interception, but based on his comments, the rest of Trubisky’s throws were sharp and accurate.

But it is just one practice, John Fox reminded us. Also via Biggs, Fox stated:

"I don’t know that we’re quite ready after one practice to define his career. We put a lot of work into the evaluation and saw a lot of the reasons why we decided to pick him where we did today. He’s very accurate, very smart, he’s got good football character as far as transferring things from the meeting room to the field. And I think we saw that today."

But it’s going to be a long time until Trubisky sees the field in any meaningful action. Trubisky even mentioned that everyone knows that Mike Glennon is the quarterback of the Bears. While it’s just one practice and the future is unknown, even if you were against the pick, there is something exciting about having a rookie quarterback. Sure, it may blow up in the team’s face, but there’s always a chance that the next star of the league is on your roster and that should be exciting for any fan. Below you can see some of the videos of Trubisky in action and addressing the media.

Of course, you can’t judge anything off one practice, but that’s an accurate NFL arm with solid footwork. How that translates to actual game play we won’t see until August, but there were definitely plenty of positives on day one of the Mitchell Trubisky Era.

As a lifelong Bears fan and sports media professional, I'm very excited to bring my passion to the pages of BearGogglesOn. I've stuck with this team through it all. I've been there through the highs (I attended Super Bowl XX in person) and the lows (any game from the Dave Wannstedt era). I've enjoyed watching the likes of Mike Singletary and Brian Urlacher patrol the field, while I continue to wait for the team's first franchise quarterback since Sid Luckman. I know I'm no different than any other Bears' fan out there: thirsty for information and opinions on our beloved franchise and I hope this site is your first stop on your daily quest for Bears' news. While my job may have taken me from Chicago to New York City (these people really do believe their pizza is better than Chicago-style - sad, I know), it hasn't changed how much I love this team and I hope that passion comes through in every article of mine you read. The only thing better than writing about the Bears is talking about them with other fans so feel free to hit me up on email and Twitter and
