Matt Forte

No surprise on this decision to have Matt Forte on my Bears All-Decade Team. He was just so enjoyable to watch every game day.

Forte was drafted by the Bears in the 2nd round of the 2008 NFL draft (44th overall) out of the University of Tulane. His first year with the Bears in 2008, he rushed for 1,238 yards in 16 games with eight rushing touchdowns and four receiving touchdowns. His performance was good enough to be selected for the 2008 NFL All-Rookie Team.

He would spend eight years as the Bears running back, hauling in a total of 8,602 rushing yards in 120 games, 45 rushing touchdowns. Throughout Forte’s career with the Bears, he redefined what it meant to be a dual-threat running back as he had 19 receiving touchdowns, 4,116 receiving yards, and 487 receptions over an eight-year span with the Bears. He was one of the best dual-threat running backs during his time in the NFL.

I can sit here and tell you that Forte was one of the best offensive players throughout the 2010s for the Bears, he was that electric.

His time in Chicago would sadly come to an end after the 2015 season and Forte would go one to join the New York Jets.

In just 8 years in Chicago, he managed to become second on the Bears all-time rushing list with 8,602 rushing yards and 45 rushing touchdowns.
