Chicago Bears: 3 Defensive players who could guarantee the playoffs

Finally, the Chicago Bears will need Eddie Jackson to find his way again
In my opinion, Eddie Jackson is the best free safety in the NFL. Yes, I know I am biased, but the way he finds his way into the end zone is quite amazing. In three seasons, Jackson has five touchdowns. The thing is, his ability to score is not his only asset.
When looking at his advanced stats for the last two years, Jackson only allowed a 40.5 quarterback rating (2018) and a 57.6 quarterback rating (2019) while being targeted. He saw 54 targets in 2018 and came away with six interceptions, while only allowing a 50 percent completion percentage. Last year he was targeted only 43 times. This could be part of the reason why he only grabbed two interceptions. He still only allowed 53.3 percent of his targets to be completed.
So even with a solid 2019 season from a coverage perspective, why do we need Jackson to step up in 2020? Quite frankly, we need Jackson to make more high impact plays once again. The addition of Tashan Gipson could help. Gipson is more of a dual safety than Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who can play both free safety and strong safety. Allowing Jackson to play more often in the free safety role could allow him to find his way into the end zone more often once again.

If this happens, it means the defense is scoring again and can help offset a poor offense. When this happens this season, the Chicago Bears will have another shot at the playoffs and maybe even more. Here is to hoping all three dominate.
