Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

Height: 5′ 10″ | Weight: 182 | Age: Jr.

Projected: Round 1

Recently, we’ve seen Alabama turn into a wide receiver factory with Calvin Ridley, Jerry Jeudy, and Henry Ruggs all going in the first round. Ridley has already turned into a star and both Jeudy and Ruggs have shown a lot of promise as rookies. Jaylen Waddle seems to be the next big first-round wide receiver to come from Alabama.

Waddle suffered a fractured ankle after only four games into the season. He may return for the SEC title game, but his return this season is up in the air especially with his guaranteed NFL draft pick on the line.

Waddle took over for Ruggs after Ruggs left for the NFL as the main playmaker in the high-powered Crimson Tide offense. In four games, Waddle caught 25 passes for 557 yards (22.3 yards per reception) and four touchdowns. Waddle has shown his explosive ability in his limited time and it should translate well to the NFL.

Waddle may not be worth it for the Bears as the Bears already have their true burner wide receiver in rookie Darnell Mooney, but it wouldn’t hurt to have two great playmakers on the offense that struggles to get burst plays.
