Chicago Bears: Round 4, Pick No. 139 via NE

The fact that Tre Brown can be found in the fourth round of the NFL Draft is a crime. The lockdown corner may be undersized, but he makes up for it with his style of play and speed. The three-year starter is going to be a steal for whoever gets him.

As stated, Brown was a three-year starter for the Oklahoma Sooners. Seeing the field a bit in 2017, he finally got the full-time gig in 2018 as he led the team in pass break-ups with 12 and posted his career-highs in tackles. He earned All-Big 12 honors as a kick returner as well. He recorded 11 pass break-ups again in 2019 as he was a force. In 2020 he came up clutch twice getting game-sealing interceptions in the Big 12 title game against Iowa State and again against No. 22 Texas.

Brown is under 5′ 10″, which is undesirable causing him to fall, but he plays like he’s much bigger. He’s never afraid to guard the bigger wide receiver even though he may get overpowered. He is aggressive and shows impressive technique and fluidity in the hips. Brown also shows great knowledge of the game and the ability to diagnose plays. Never afraid to fly in and make a tackle despite his size.

The Bears have a deep cornerback room, but no number one cornerback or starting slot cornerback. Both those spots will be up for grabs this offseason with the departure of both Kyle Fuller and Buster Skrine. Brown could contest for either of these spots immediately.
