Chicago Bears: Round 2, Pick No. 52

Finding a quality starter in the second round shouldn’t be too hard for the Bears. In this particular mock draft, Jackson Carman is the best available offensive tackle on the board, so the Bears find themselves with a durable starter to bolster the trenches.

Carman was arguably the best offensive lineman for Clemson the past three seasons. While he played left tackle in college, a shift to right tackle may be a better opportunity for him to start right away. He would instantly push Germain Ifedi for reps this offseason and may the best man win the job.

He’s a terrific run blocker who keeps his feet moving and shifts his opponents to create more opportunities. His pass protection in particular was solid to watch — a thing the Bears can afford to improve on with Andy Dalton assuming the role of starting quarterback.
