Chicago Bears: Round 3, Pick No. 83

The offensive tackle prospects at this range were not worth a third-round pick, so instead, I shored up the interior with Green here. A local kid from Illinois, Green has a really good chance to compete for playing time at guard or center, which he played both at in college.

His abilities in the pass-pro were very noticeable for me, although I did see him overextend his arms at times. Regardless, he’s able to accelerate off the line and get through contact on the first and second levels of blocks.

Green would be up against the likes of Cody Whitehair, Sam Mustipher, Alex Bars, James Daniels, and newly signed Elijah Wilkinson. His experience in multiple spots and willingness to get off the line and engage could give him a real advantage over the majority of these players. If at nothing else, it’s much-needed depth for this Bears’ offensive line.
