Chicago Bears Head Coach Candidate: Greg Roman – Holding Steady

Last Week: Stock up slightly

How is it that the stock of Greg Roman has held steady despite two losses over the last two weeks? Well, it is because of what the offense has been able to do despite being without Lamar Jackson. Two weeks ago, the Ravens lost to the Packers 31-30. Tyler Huntley saw the start and accounted for four touchdowns — two through the air and two on the ground.

Last week the Ravens struggled even more, but this time Greg Roman was stuck with third-string quarterback, Josh Johnson. Even with Johnson under center, the Ravens’ offense found a way to put up 21 points. All while the Chicago Bears are averaging only 17.7 points per game on the year. Although most of it came in garbage time, Johnson finished with two touchdowns and threw for just over 300 yards.

Not many are on the Greg Roman train, but I would not hate to see him given a chance here in Chicago. He is definitely on my shortlist. I’m going to put together a top-five list here shortly on who I would prefer to see overseeing the Chicago Bears in 2022 and beyond.
