Where do the Chicago Bears rank among teams that need a new head coach?

Alright, if we are looking at this as objectively as we can, I have the Chicago Bears ranked as the second-best option among all of these teams. The top option would probably be Seattle with a proven Russell Wilson, but we don’t know for sure if Seattle is even going to be in the head-coaching competition.

Justin Fields plus over $40 million in cap space should be very enticing to future head coaches. With strategic cuts, the team can actually find over $50 million in cap space for next year. On top of that, the team has Robert Quinn coming off an 18.5 sack season (setting the franchise record previously held by Richard Dent). Khalil Mack is also back, while Trevis Gipson has been proving this year that he can be a great rotational EDGE rusher.

On offense, the team has some great young talent in Darnell Mooney, Cole Kmet and David Montgomery. Khalil Herbert looks to be a rotational piece too. The offensive line is a question mark as we just saw Larry Borom’s worst game and Teven Jenkins barely saw action after back surgery during training camp. Jaylon Johnson as a CB1 and Khyiris Tonga from the 2021 NFL Draft looks like he could replace Eddie Goldman who is making too much money for this lack of production.

Needless to say, overall, I would take the Chicago job overall but Seattle. Miami would be a close third but only if you believe in Tua Tagovailoa. I think I would then lean the Raiders, followed by Minnesota. The Jaguars would be second to last and Houston would be just ahead of them. The worst job on this list in my opinion would be the New York Giants.

dark. Next. Bears should sign this leader now

The key here though will not be who signs the first replacement. Instead, the key here will be doing things right. Moving on from Ryan Pace as general manager is the first step, followed by bringing in the best candidate to help groom Justin Fields into a superstar. I’m working on my top five coaching candidates, but here is the most recent coaching candidate stock report to take a look at who are actual options for the Bears this offseason.
