Chicago Bears: A look at Doug Pederson, would he fit as the next HC?
By Ryan Olson
Where did Doug Pederson find success?
Doug Pederson was at his best in Philadelphia when paired with not only Frank Reich but also John DeFilippo. While Frank Reich may not be available because he has established himself as one of the better head coaches in the league. Defilippo has been with the Chicago Bears, serving as the quarterbacks coach for the last two years.
As many fans know, Pederson made that Cinderella run back in 2017 with Nick Foles serving as the fill-in for MVP front runner Carson Wentz, beating Tom Brady and the Patriots in the Superbowl.
Pederson and Carson Wentz as the years have passed have earned the reputation of being able to make offenses work with the very minimal talent the Eagles had to work with on offense. Pederson’s greatest weapon in his five years in Philadelphia, was either Carson Wentz, who struggled to stay healthy most of the time, or his offensive line that was only elite during that championship run, and was banged up for most of the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
