5 positions Chicago Bears must address in 2022

3. Cornerback

This could be more specifically the slot, but at the same time nobody has locked down anything on the outside. Kindle Vildor and Thomas Graham will return and compete for outside reps. Fans are sick of Vildor already but he is so cheap that is worth keeping as depth. Graham made the most of his limited time but now will have new coaches to impress.

Artie Burns had some nice reps as well when he got to play during the late stretch of the season. Still, it is hard to assume that a new regime will keep a player when he appeared to be tied to Ryan Pace believing in him.

Either way in the slot, they have Duke Shelly, who cannot come back as a starter. Graham is a slot in theory but has never actually played there, so that is typically just looked at as fan speculation. Either way, they likely need two cornerbacks to add to this room, but of anything, they need a slot.
