The Chicago Bears should trade back with the Miami Dolphins

This is another example of the Bears trading back to acquire additional draft capital, but this time they’re trading back in the second round. There are going to be a lot of great offensive weapons available in the second round, and maybe new head coach Mike McDaniel wants to find his next workhorse here.

At pick 39, you could see players like Kenneth Walker and Breece Hall on the board. With McDaniel’s background under Kyle Shanahan, he could want to finally establish a top-end running back in Miami after the Dolphins have used a mixed back over the last few seasons.

With the Dolphins moving up to pick 39 for a player like Walker or Hall, the Bears move back to the no. 50 overall pick and also acquire a fifth-rounder (no. 157) from Miami.

At pick no. 50, let’s say the Bears could get a wide receiver like Penn State’s Jahan Dotson, Georgia’s George Pickens, Clemson’s Justyn Ross, or even South Alabama’s Jalen Tolbert. Maybe they opt to go after an offensive lineman like Darian Kinnard out of Kentucky or Zion Johnson out of Boston College. If the Bears can snag a player like that at 50, then moving back was well worth it. Not to mention, they get to opportunity to make an additional fifth-round selection.
