The Chicago Bears should watch Marquis Hayes at the 2022 NFL Combine

Senior

College: Oklahoma

Height: 6’4 3/4”

Weight: 318 lbs

Best trait: Natural power

With everything just said about Ingram’s traits, you can take a lot of that and simply add power, and you’d have much of what represents Oklahoma’s Marquis Hayes.

The big man stands taller than the rest of the guys on this list and possesses raw, natural power. He is a mover of men, to say the least. He is similar to Shaffer where he’s going to try and put his opposing man in the dirt, and also has strong hands.

To go with Hayes’ power, he’s got excellent footwork and is able to get wide in a hurry.

Hayes depends on that power more than anything, which is where he can get in trouble by not staying low. He’s going to move defenders, but if a quicker pass rusher gets the edge, it might be too late for Hayes to recover.

Hayes isn’t the most athletic, but he’s not un-athletic. He does a good job looking to make blocks at the second level, but may not be the ideal guard in pulling scenarios. If he is there in the fourth or fifth round, Hayes is definitely worth the pick and could develop into a starting guard in a run-focused offense.
