2. Should Chicago Bears sign Quinton Jefferson?

Quinton Jefferson is another player who may be interested in the rise of Travis Smith to defensive line coach. Jefferson has always been looked at as a rotational player, especially during his time with the Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills.

He was still in and out of the line at times, but last season he also had a career year with Smith and the Las Vegas Raiders. According to PFF, he had the most pressures and stops of his career in 2021.

He is an interior rusher and may be going to his fourth team in as many years. This is not a player that is going to set a market or get a big payday. Still, he could be looking at his number last season and saying that Rod Marinelli helped him more than anyone. Travis Smith and Matt Eberflus are the closest things to him and could help his career more than any other team.
