Alec Pierce is a realistic 2022 draft target for the Chicago Bears

To this day, one of the receivers in this class who is not being talked about nearly as much as he should be is Cincinnati wideout, Alec Pierce. The senior helped lead the Bearcats to the College Football Playoff this past season, alongside his quarterback Desmond Ridder.

At 6-foot-3 and 211 pounds, Pierce presents an ideal size at the receiver position. He’s a larger target with a ton of muscle to help him shed tacklers and work to move the chains. The thing about Pierce that’s not being spoken about enough, though, is his athleticism and speed.

Pierce ran a blazing 4.41 in his 40-yard dash at the Combine recently, which puts him in an elite class, especially for his size. He also notched a vertical jump of 40.5 inches, giving him quite the physical tools to work with. He’s got the whole package.

As a deep threat, Pierce was a huge mismatch in college. But, he also has the ability to work in the middle of the field and get open. He’s great at finding those small soft spots in coverage, turning around, and positioning himself well for his quarterback.

Pierce is currently being mocked mostly in the third round, and the Bears should absolutely snag him at that price tag if he’s there.
