The Chicago Bears make crucial Day 2 trades in this 2022 NFL mock draft
The Chicago Bears do what Ryan Poles has said — acquire more draft capital
The moving back continues in round three for the Chicago Bears as they have two more offers. This situation is a tough choice because the Chicago Bears would not gain any draft capital this year, but one gives the team a tremendous advantage.
Or
The players left on the draft board include:
- Ed Ingram
- David Bell
- Rachaad White
- Alec Lindstrom
- Nicholas Petit-Frere
I will be accepting the Las Angelos Rams trade offer. Moving down when there are many people left still and bumping up the draft range for 2023 is too valuable to pass up. The second to last draft selection in round three is a tough choice. The available players include:
- Calvin Austin III
- Jake Ferguson
- Damone Clark
- James Cook
- Khalil Shakir
Currently, I have a lot of those prospects with similar grades. The defensive tackles that are left aren’t worth selecting this early. I will be using the Chicago Bears’ 104th selection to trade down again.
In the end, this mock follows what Ryan Poles has been doing throughout free agency. Deliberate attacks that acquire draft capital in this draft and the future while plugging holes. The Chicago bears would have started this offseason with five draft picks and Khalil Mack and ended day two with Tyler Smith, Sky Moore, 2023 LAC second-round, 2023, LAR fourth-round, pick 125, pick 148, pick 150, pick 158, and pick 186. That is seven draft picks this year and two additional picks next season.
This Chicago Bears mock draft won’t wow you. It didn’t wow me. I could have reset the draft and tried again, but there are no do-overs when NFL teams are drafting. The good news is that there were a lot of players still left on the draft board entering round four.
- Alec Peirce WR
- Wan Dale Robinson WR
- Kahlil Shakir WR
- James Cook HB
- Neil Farrell JR DT
- Jelani Woods TE
According to this mock draft, the depth of this draft sits in round four, where the Chicago Bears will be armed and ready. Stay tuned for more and more in-depth mock drafts.
