3. Jack Sanborn

This one is probably locked in, but now we need to see the icing on the cake. Jack Sanborn was the most prized UDFA signing when the team announced his addition. From OTAs to training camp, and into the preseason we have seen why.

His preseason performance was obviously the most notable, as he turned the ball over, ran and chased, and even made plays on special teams. When you add his performance to the Chicago Bears having such a weak depth chart at linebacker, he probably already locked up a roster spot.

Still, what typically happens with rookies is that they dominate the second half of a preseason game, then they are thrown into the first half of the game and you see where the growing pains are.

Sanborn is likely going to get more work in week two than he did in week one, and it should come earlier. All he needs to do is pass the test. Even if he does not dominate like last week, it could be expected. A little presence on special teams and showing that moving up the depth chart does not mean the game is getting too fast is all that Sanborn needs to do to lock down a linebacker role.
