3. BoPete Keyes

BoPete Keyes was the closest to seeing the roster of this group, mainly because the depth chart was not so strong. Behind Kyler Gordon, and Jaylon Johnson there was Tavon Young, and then plenty of questions.

Kindle Vildor seems locked into the CB4 role because Thomas Graham is hurt. The CB5 spot was open for Keyes to take it, along with Jaylon Jones, Lamar Jackson, Greg Stroman, and Devontae Harris.

Of them, we projected Stroman to get let go, because he has not been healthy, while Keyes has been. However, Keyes being healthy meant the team saw a lot of him, and apparently they did not need to see more.

Keyes is a veteran and you would not expect him to circle back to the practice squad after this. The team gave him a long look in week two of the preseason and must have decided to move on.

Letting him go now gives him time to catch on elsewhere, and it gives them longer looks at some of the depth like Jaylon Jones, a rookie UDFA.
