These six players will fill out the interior offensive line group

This group has a very interesting makeup and turn of events that took place this offseason. Teven Jenkins looks to be the starting right guard. He went from the starting right tackle to second string. Then he was not even practicing. It was a weird situation that had fans scratching their heads as trade rumors started to circulate. Those trade rumors are still out there, but I just do not see it happening.

With Jenkins leading the way at right guard, this leaves Cody Whitehair slotted in as the starting left guard. Lucas Patrick will be the starting center once he returns from his thumb injury. His injury is minimal, but when you include the fact that he has to grip and snap a football it makes the injury more prevalent.

As far as the backups go, Michael Schofield will be the next in line should the team need someone to fill in for Whitehair of Jenkins. I thought Schofield was a lock to start at right guard, but that was before the Jenkins shift. Behind Schofield will be rookie guard, Zach Thomas and the current starting center, Sam Mustipher. I’m not high on Mustipher, but he looks to be better than the others I haven’t mentioned. If Doug Kramer didn’t get hurt I wonder if he pushes Mustipher off the team.
