2. College Production

While we did not see Smith-Marsette on an NFL field much, he did put in four years of work at Iowa. During his freshman season, he caught 18 balls for 187 yards and 2 TDs. He moved up to 361 yards as a sophomore, then 722 yards and five TDs in his junior season.

That was his best mark, as he only had 345 yards and four touchdowns as a senior, causing him to fall to round five.

PlayerProfiler uses dominator rating, and target share, which helps quantify the raw data in the context of the offense he was in.

For instance, they claim that 32.8% of the Iowa offense was his production. He also had an 18.3% target share. Those are in the 63rd and 48th percentile. He also became a leading wideout for the team at age 20, making his breakout age in the 61st percentile.

For comparison to Pettis again, he was at 31.6% in dominator raring, 28.4% in target share, and age 20 in breakout as well. The two are very similar prospects. PlayerProfiler says that using their formula Pettis the closest match for ISM.
