12. Nsimba Webster

Nsimba Webster is our third veteran player of the six allowed to make the practice squad. Webster is also in the same boat as Harris because he will need to perform on special teams to make the Chicago Bears roster as well.

Webster is not a gunner, though, but rather a return man. The issue here is that the team has so may return options. Both Velus Jones and Dante Pettis made the team at wide receiver, and both of them are expected to be return options. Beyond that, the team claimed Ihmir Smith-Marsette, and ISM also has some of his best play as a return man.

It is clear that Chicago values return threats, and may even see that translating more to offense. Still, while they value players like Webster that is only so clear because he is so low on the totem pole at such a specified role. It was interesting that the team even kept Webster as one of their veterans.
