3. Chicago Bears whiffed on Byron Pringle

This would typically not be a big deal, but the reality is that Byron Pringle is the highest-paid wide receiver on the roster. That can be a testament to Ryan Poles, who somehow thought that Pringle should be making more than guys like Dante Pettis and Equanimeous St. Brown combined. The reality is that if Pringle is better than those two, the difference is negligible, and the price should not be that drastic.

Injuries hurt his progress and threw him off, but he was never better than Equanimeous St. Brown, and it appeared as though they signed him to fill that role. St. Brown kept doing his job, and Pringle never gave them a reason to make the switch.

Pringle only signed a one-year deal, but if he cannot beat out Dante Pettis for snaps, he is not worth bringing back. Beyond that, they already paid St. Brown for next season, so they do not need his role. They need a high-end wide out, and anyone like him is taking away cap space to make a move. This should be it for Byron Pringle.
