The Carolina Panthers need to get their quarterback position right

Have we seen any other team, that in a single season, go through more big-name quarterbacks who have become busts than the Carolina Panthers? Since parting ways with Cam Newton, the Panthers bailed on Teddy Bridgewater to trade for Sam Darnold and when that didn’t work out, they traded for Baker Mayfield. Both Mayfield and Darnold have failed to play up to expectations and it’s possible that the Panthers could get desperate. Maybe, just maybe, the Chicago Bears can convince the Panthers to make this trade:

The Chicago Bears could move back from the top pick in the draft while giving the Panthers an opportunity to fix their quarterback position. In the trade, Chicago lands Brian Burns. If you look at a draft pick value chart, the ninth-overall pick would need to be paired with the fifth-overall pick to be worth a trade down from the top pick in the draft. Due to this, Brian Burns is included, while Ryan Poles sends the Panthers a fourth-rounder for next season (2024).

If by chance the Panthers are not willing to send Burns in the deal, he is a top defensive end in the league after all, then maybe the two teams can agree on sending D.J. Moore (WR) in his place. I’d rather Burns though and since these are crazy fun trade scenarios, let’s leave it as Brian Burns being sent to help fix the Bears’ defense.
