Derrick Nnadi is another possible free agent the Chicago Bears should consider

Let’s shift gears to the defensive side of the ball. The Chicago Bears need help on the defensive line and it’s possible that Derrick Nnadi could be a solid piece. He isn’t someone that will come in and make splash plays at the 3-technique, but he can line up next to whoever the Bears add at the 3-technique and take up bodies.

As the nose tackle in the Chiefs’ defense, Nnadi has helped the Chiefs’ defensive line rack up the second-most sacks in the league behind only the Eagles. In 17 games, he finished with 25 combined tackles (11 solos) and one tackle for loss. Last season, he had three sacks, 38 combined tackles (21 solos) and two tackles for loss.

Nnadi is not someone who shows up on the stat sheet. He is a player who helps everyone around him play better. Chris Jones is the 3-technique for the Chiefs and he has 15.5 sacks this season — tied for a career-high. He also had 17 tackles for loss this season. If the Bears can add a true pass-rushing 3-technique this offseason, Derrick Nnadi would make for a very good nose tackle.
