This will be an important year for the Chicago Bears quarterbacks. Why not get a little bold, and make some calls for what could happen this year. We are looking at the entire quarterbacks room before the start of the first preseason game.
3. Justin Fields plays well enough to earn a contract from the Chicago Bears
This is a make-or-break season for Justin Fields. He has a top-ten pick at right tackle, and his left tackle is entering year two. The interior is locked in. The Chicago Bears traded for DJ Moore, they traded for Chase Claypool, they drafted Tyler Scott, they did everything that you need to do to support Fields and have him ready for this season.
The Chicago Bears will have to decide on the fifth-year option for Fields after this year. However, our prediction is that Fields will not get that picked up. That is because the team will feel so good that they get an extension done before hand.
Fields have given the team every reason to believe that he can take that step this year. The team is built around him, and they follow him as the leader. He has the physical presence, and everything is in place for that breakout season.
What will solidfy this for Fields is that he will not just do it rushing, but he will be the man passing the football. DJ Moore will help him launch his career and take that step into being an elite passer of the football. It will give him the confidence to throw the ball, rather than tuck and run. He may not rush for the same stats as last year, but every passing stat will improve.

2. PJ Walker makes more than one start for the Chicago Bears
Even if Justin Fields is running less, his playing style leads to big hits. Fields is not the type of player to let any play die, and he still will struggle to throw the ball away. The added skill players will only make him want to stand in the pocket for a split-second longer and try to make a play down the field.
That could lead to much bigger hits and a potential injury. We already saw an injury last year, and while it is easy to say injury-prone, you would be surprised how many quarterbacks in the NFL miss a game or two. On average, backup quarterbacks play about 65 games per year. So, on average, every team may see their backup play two games. Of course, some teams get lucky and go under two games, while some unfortunately go over, but many teams see their quarterback miss two or three games per year.
It is an ironman position, and it is hard to make it through the whole season without needing one week to get everything back on the right track.
Plus, by saying he starts more than one week it is bold enough that it does not just mean that a meaningless week 18 is on the table, but it does mean that this may be one of the games. Still, while we are not wishing an injury

1. Nathan Peterman beats out Tyson Bagent for the Chicago Bears third quarterback
Fans do not want this one to come to fruition, but it is probably more likely than a lot of them want to realize. That is because Peterman has experience while Bagent does not. For the fans, they have seen Peterman and know that it will not end well. However, the coaches see Peterman and know what they are getting. They think they can manage him.
With Tyson Bagent, he is exciting to the fans. He is from a small school, so a lot of what he brings to the table is unknown. However, the coaches do not know what he would do if he got on the field, and they do not like that.
In all realities, Peterman is just an extra coach, and Bagent is a project. The team does not want to see either, and it would have to be an in-game emergency for either to play. During the week, the team would sign someone to keep both quarterbacks in their spots.
However, Bagent knows that his best chance is to stay with Luke Getsy, whom he signed with after playing for him in the Senior Bowl. The Bears know that no one will claim him because of how raw he is. They know that for how raw he is, he will struggle to beat out Peterman. For one more year, he will be the Chicago Bears third-string quarterback.
