As a guest on The 33rd Team podcast hosted by Amon-Ra and Equanimeous St. Brown, Justin Fields hopped on the podcast to discuss many things, including the drama surrounding him and the Chicago Bears.
Justin Fields opens up about Chicago Bears situation, what future holds
After Fields unfollowed the Bears on social media, Chicago Bears fans did what they do best: They overreacted. Justin Fields explained the situation the best he could, yet, there are still plenty of question marks.

As someone who isn't overly vocal, there has been a lot of noise surrounding the Chicago Bears and Justin Fields. The Chicago Bears hold the No. 1 pick, and based on what the draft experts are saying, Caleb Williams appears to be the next quarterback to suit up for the Chicago Bears.
That is, if the Bears don't keep Justin Fields.
It's safe to say that Justin Fields didn't get a fair shake at things in his time with the Chicago Bears. In the same vein, however, many quarterbacks go through what Justin Fields is going through to some degree. Unless your name is Patrick Mahomes, there's a chance greater than 0% that your team could want a new quarterback if presented with the No. 1 pick.
Justin Fields' time with the Chicago Bears hasn't been perfect, and he discussed what could be next for his NFL journey with the St. Brown brothers.

Chicago Bears Takeaway No. 1: Fields unfollowing Bears meant nothing, unfollowed NFL also
When prompted by the St. Brown brothers about his unfollowing of the Chicago Bears on social media, Fields had to suppress his laughter.
“Why do people take social media so seriously? Just because I unfollow, like, I still mess with the Bears," Fields said. "I’m just trying to take a little break. I unfollowed the Bears and the NFL. I’m just not trying to have football on my timeline."
With the demeanor Fields responded in, it was obvious Fields found the whole stir up a bit ridiculous.
But when all of this drama is about him and his career, it's probably hard for him to see that stuff daily. Considering Fields' work ethic and mentality, he just wants to be a great NFL player. He's not about all the social media stuff, and he cleared the air on his devious unfollowing of the Chicago Bears.
His unfollowing the team also did not influence his opinion of the team. He still likes the Chicago Bears, it's just not something he wants to see every time he opens social media.
It's hard to blame him for that.

Chicago Bears Takeaway No. 2: Justin Fields doesn't like the process either, Bears fans
To all the Chicago Bears who have grown a feverish distaste for the online discourse surrounding the Bears, Justin Fields, and/or Caleb Williams, you're not alone. Fields made it abundantly clear to the St. Brown brothers that he isn't into all the social media discourse either.
“It’s something that I don’t want to see on my timeline," Fields said. "Every Bears post, it’s either, ‘Keep Fields! We Want Fields!’ or ‘Draft Caleb,’ so it’s like, I’m tired of hearing the talk.”
When casual fans have to mute the keywords "Justin Fields" and "Caleb Williams" on social media, that might be an indication that the discourse is becoming nauseating. That's what point we're at in the offseason.
Justin Fields is just like the fans. He doesn't enjoy this process one bit.
Another part of this offseason process that Justin Fields was vocally displeased with is the fact that he's unsure of what his near future looks like. Or so he alluded to with the St. Brown brothers.
“I feel like the biggest thing with all this going on right now, I just want it to be over," Fields said. "Just let me know if I’m getting traded, or let me know if I’m staying.”
The 2024 NFL Draft is 64 days away, and Justin Fields might not know where his next chapter is taking place. When the two choices could be between staying put in the life you're already living, and packing up to a new city and NFL team, it's understandable to want to know what's going on.
All-in-all, Justin Fields is just like the Chicago Bears fans in this sense. He's sick of the noise, and he's tired of the process.

Chicago Bears Takeaway No. 3: Justin Fields wants to be on the Bears for life
If it were up to Justin Fields, he'd be the Chicago Bears' quarterback for life.
"I can’t see myself playing in another place, but I know how the league is," Fields said. "If it was up to me, I’d want to stay in Chicago. I love the city, the fans there are great, but it’s a business. I ain’t got no control over it, so whatever happens, happens.”

It's apparent that Fields understands how the league works as far as giving rookie quarterbacks a set amount of time to prove they're one of the top guys. If they're not, the possibility of being traded or released is presented.
He now lives in that grey area where there's a possibility of him staying or leaving. Until the NFL Combine, most likely, Justin Fields won't know what's next.
If it were up to him, however, he'd be a Chicago Bear forever.

Chicago Bears Takeaway No. 4: Justin Fields shows Steelers and Falcons love
In a few instances on the St. Brown brothers' podcast, Justin Fields showed love to teams other than the Chicago Bears. Since he understands the likelihood of him playing somewhere else, maybe he was saying these things to lure teams in.
The two teams who received the most love from Justin Fields were the Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons. Coincidentally, both of those teams have been linked to Justin Fields in one way or another.
Justin Fields' Steelers praise
"[Acrisure Stadium] was lit, too, with the Terrible Towels my rookie year. Pittsburgh was lit Monday Night.”
Justin Fields' Falcons praise
“Atlanta would be tough. I think [the Falcons] got a lot of playmakers on the team. Of course, Bijan [Robinson]. They’ve got my boy Kyle [Pitts], and then of course, Drake [London], too. They probably need one more receiver, but they’ve definitely got some guys over there. And, their defense was good this year, too.”
When looking at the two quotes side-by-side, there seems to be a clear favorite among the two of which team Justin Fields could want to play for. And that team is the Atlanta Falcons.
The Falcons have been linked to Fields for many reasons, one of which being that Fields is a Georiga-native. Along with that, the playmakers on the Falcons would give Fields an array of different weapons, which wasn't always the case with the Chicago Bears.
For the fans who enjoy watching fun offenses, the idea of Justin Fields with the Atlanta Falcons would constitute a fun offense.
As for Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears, it seems like just a matter of time before the two break-up and go their separate ways. There's a pathway to both sides leaving the deal richer, and that's the ideal situation.
