The Chicago Bears finally won a game, but sitting at 1-4, they are hardly back in the playoff hunt. In fact, they would have to finish 8-4 to finish above .500, which seems like a stretch at this point. So, it was a nice feeling, but the ultimate goal of the season will be another rebuild.
With that in mind, if the Bears get calls on the following players, they would have to consider trading them.
4. Should the Chicago Bears trade Jaylon Johnson?
Jaylon Johnson has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury. However, he was close to playing Thursday night, and he feels he is good to play this week. So, the Bears may get a chance to showcase him against some bigger-name wide receivers before shipping him out.
The Bears get the Minnesota Vikings, so he will take on Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. His presence in the secondary is needed, but if they drop to 1-5 and he plays well, it may be the time to sell high. Johnson is a free agent after this year, so the Bears may end up seeing him walk after this season for nothing. Teams would pay for a young cornerback, especially in a trade market where very few will be available. This will be the best time for the Chicago Bears to get the most back for Johnson.
The emergence of Terell Smith may make this easier. Smith has played well in his place, and he is a rookie with plenty of time to learn. If this season is about finding the building blocks, then the Bears would be better off starting Smith and getting what they can for Johnson.

3. Will Darnell Mooney get the Chicago Bears anything in return?
Darnell Mooney has had a majorly disappointing season. After averaging 3.8 catches and 45.7 yards per game during his career, he is currently at 1.6 catches and 20.8 yards for the season. That is a big drop. It felt like Thursday night was a get-right game for everyone except Mooney.
Mooney was targeted four times and hauled in zero passes. He just cannot get on the same page as Justin Fields after missing this offseason recovering from his season-ending surgery. So, Mooney is not healthy and not producing, which may mean it is a bad time to trade him.
However, he is a receiver with a known history and does not have the baggage that Chase Claypool does. If a team offers something for him, the Chicago Bears could listen. Mooney is another player who will be a free agent after this season, and at the rate things are going, he will not be back.
So, the Bears will have to ask if his ability through the rest of the year is worth getting nothing in return or if they should just trade him now and work Tyler Scott into his role earlier than expected. It would depend on the cost, and maybe a big game against the Vikings can help things, but the Bears have to be interested.

2. Should the Chicago Bears trade Justin Fields?
This stems from a debate that came after the Chicago Bears win. ESPN ran a segment where they suggested the best move for the team moving forward would be trading Justin Fields. So, if a team called, would they listen?
"Sell high. Go ahead and move on from Justin Fields right now. His value is not going to get higher than what it is."

They would have to. He is right that this may be the best stretch that Fields has, and beyond that, at 1-4, even if he did have a great stretch, he may not get them into the playoff hunt. More than that, with the Carolina Panthers pick, the Bears have real assets to take a quarterback high next year.
The big issue here would be that the Bears do not have a competent backup. Tyson Bagent just passed up Nathan Peterman, but it took so long because Bagent is a rookie UDFA from a place called Shepherd. He played well in the preseason, but Kenny Pickett was the best quarterback in the preseason, so what does that tell us?
Bagent is not ready to play, and the second he went in, the team would admit they were tanking. Does that go over well? They could not do it right now; they would need to lose another couple of games. If that did happen, and Fields played well in those losses, the Bears could get a decent return, and that may help the rebuild around the new quarterback.

1. Would the Chicago Bears trade Yannick Ngakoue for the right price?
The Chicago Bears have to consider trading Yannick Ngakoue. Ngakoue has two sacks this season and is coming off of a game when he had a sack. This may be a sell-high point for the Bears. Ngakoue is another player who is a free agent after this year. He signed a one-year deal, and the thought was that he wanted to get stats and sign a new contract somewhere else after this year.
Ngakoue signed so late into the offseason this year that the team losing him did not get a compensatory pick. When you add that the Bears will spend in free agency and the compensatory formula may not impact them, this may be the Bears' only chance to get anything in return for Ngakoue.
Ngakoue has been in this spot before. He signed with the Minnesota Vikings, it did not work out, and they traded him to the Baltimore Ravens. Sitting at 1-4, it would not be shocking if the Chicago Bears looked to do the same thing or at least took calls on Ngakoue. Teams would love to add that pass rush into the mix at this point in the season. Will the Bears get enough in return to make it worth trading Yannick Ngakoue?
