Rex Revisited

Just when everyone in Chicago had written him off, Rex Grossman looks like he has finally reached a new level as an NFL quarterback. He is making quick decisions in the pocket, guiding the offense in drives and avoiding turnovers. Could he finally be the quarterback to lead this team? Will the Bears re-sign him?

Start Orton?

Some reporters in Chicago are pushing to give Kyle Orton a start at quarterback to see what skills he has for possible re-sign or trade value. So Rex puts together three solid games in a row and now we need another quarterback change? This is just another example of how some sports fans are never happy.

Thursday Night

It feels strange to have a Thursday night game. I haven’t considered Thursday night to be a weekend night since college when the school week lasted from about Tuesday morning until Thursday afternoon. Having a short week to prepare will be exhausting enough, but with the emotions running high after Sean Taylor’s funeral this game will take a toll on both sides.

Tight End Battle?

Greg Olsen came into town as the golden boy who would restore dominance at the tight end position for the Bears. So far this season he has been more of an on field threat, giving up the highlight reel plays to Desmond Clark. Is this another effort by the Bears to build up trade value or do the Bears finally realize the depth of talent they have at the position? Both are great play makers and should see the ball much more often.

The Original Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson came out and delivered beyond my high expectations. He looked like a beast from the Brian Westbrook school of running and catching everywhere on the field. The Bears focus the last month of the season should be on seeing how high his potential can reach.

Anyone other than Ogunleye?

Adewale Ogunleye is all over the field creating fumbles and looking like he still thinks he’s on last year’s defense. Why is he the only one?

Good as Done

At this point it’s safe to say the Adam Archuleta experiment is a complete bust. The Chris Harris trade is looking worse and worse every week.
