I want to start off by giving myself a pat on the back and declare I will refrain from using New York Giants puns for the next two weeks. I considered titling today’s blog “Giant Change” and even “Giant Conclusion” before puking a little in my mouth and going with my present title.
The New York Giants are the NFC representation in the Super Bowl. Take a moment to let it sink in and make you sick. The NFC representation was supposed to be the Cowboys, or Packers, or even the Seahawks, but not the Giants. We [...]

Giant Disaster?
It’s official, the New York Giants are going on to the Super Bowl to play the New England Patriots. Both teams have to be happy to get away from the frigid cold to the welcoming weather in Arizona. What a disaster this poses for the NFC representation in the Super Bowl.
The Giants got the better of the Green Bay Packers on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field mostly due to the inept Green Bay offense than anything else. The Packers couldn’t establish a running game and when they relied on Brett Favre to create some magic, he conjured interceptions. It was [...]
Quit Your Bitching
I was listening to a certain sports radio station in my car this morning and heard a discussion about how the game in Lambeau Field tomorrow could be the second coldest in NFL history. Did I miss something? The last time I checked I heard the temperature was going to be around -5 or -10 with the wind chill. That is by no means the second coldest game in NFL history.
The common folktale among the NFL is the infamous Ice Bowl of 1967 when the Dallas Cowboys played the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau when it was -13. You may [...]
One of my favorite Bears videos from the Chicago Bears-Dallas Cowboys playoff game in 1991 when Tom Waddle caught 9 balls for 104 yards and 1 touchdown, breaking the Bears record for most receptions in a playoff game, most use of Smelling Salts, and biggest headache after a game.
Oh The Agony!
Who do I hate more, the Packers or the Patriots? I may be put to the test in three weekends because this will likely be the Super Bowl match up.
I would love to see the San Diego Chargers defeat the New England Patriots and get the AFC trophy, but with a banged up LaDainian Tomlinson and gimpy Phillip Rivers the Chargers may have to hope for another miracle from their back ups Michael Turner and Billy Volek. Although, if you told me the fate of the Chargers season would rest on a touchdown drive led by Volek and [...]
Who Do I Cheer For??
This is always a difficult time of the year for Bears fans that have to decide who to cheer for in the playoffs. The NFC Central usually produces a good enough team to compete in the playoffs, which is holding up true again with the Green Bay Packers. Here is the debate that comes to my mind: Do you cheer for your hated rival to lose, or do you hope for teams from your division to beat the rest of the league?
There is a certain hatred that develops when you play a team year in and year out. You develope [...]
Next Year’s Schedule
The weekly schedule is still in the works, but the opponents for the 2008 season have be released.
Home Games: Packers, Lions, Vikings, Saints, Bucs, Jaguars, Titans, Eagles
Road Games: Packers, Lions, Vikings, Falcons, Panthers, Texans, Colts, Rams
The Bears home schedule is scaring me already. They essentially have 7 playoff teams on their own tur. I’m counting the Lions as the only non-playoff team and the Saints and Eagles as almost playoff teams since they were still on contention at seasons end. What does that matter you ask? It’s a whole lot closer to the playoffs than the Bears were this season.
We [...]
