A while ago I wrote a post on the top 10 draft busts by the Chicago Bears in the past 20 years. That list may need to be amended as the Bears cut several draft picks to make the 53-man roster.
Most notably, 2007 second round draft pick Dan Bazuin and 2007 third round pick Michael Okwo. Bazuin was touted as a solid defensive end to compete with Mark Anderson. At that time the Bears had ideas of putting more speed and youth and defensive end and part ways with Alex Brown. Brown is extremely solid against the run but is [...]

List of Bears Draft Busts Grows
New Bears Season, Same Story
Some things change, but for the Chicago Bears, it appears that at least one thing stays the same. The Bears lost their second preseason game to the Seattle Seahawks and the game plan remains unchanged from the previous seasons under Lovie Smith. The offense was completely useless except in small flashes, the defense held down the opposing offense and create turnovers and points, and the special teams helped save the day.
It doesn’t matter what quarterback was on the field, Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton, or Caleb Hanie, the offense couldn’t get anything to work. To give him some slack, Orton looked [...]
Bears Castoffs Blast Grossman
Well it looks like Muhsin Muhammad and Tank Johnson really didn’t like Sexy Rexy. Muhsin never really produced in Chicago (blame it on the QBs all you want) and Tank…well, we all know about Tank. Here is what the pair recently had to say about Rex Grossman:
Former Bears wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad told Sports Illustrated the team is where receivers go to die.
And former Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson told CBS Sportsline.com that Grossman was “brittle” and “soft.
What’s funny is that Tank calls Grossman brittle and soft. He might be, but at least he doesn’t tote around enough guns to [...]
Chicago Bears first-round draft pick, offensive tackle Chris Williams will have back surgery to correct an injury since the beginning of training camp. Williams has been unable to practice because of an undisclosed back injury and prevented him from joining the team. He refused to visit a specialist initially but the Bears announced he will be undergoing back surgery to correct the problem.
There has been no indication how much playing time he will miss or when he will be able to put on pads and start hitting. The back can be a sensitive thing and his return could be immediate [...]
Welcome back to football season Bears fans! That’s right, tomorrow night will officially start Chicago Bears football again in the Windy City and not a moment too soon. I feel like I haven’t watched a football game in forever and the Bears will be hosting the Kansas City Chiefs at home in Soldier Field tomorrow night.
Of course my excitement is curbed by reality of this being an exhibition game. We’ll like only see a quarter or half tops of good football and then the remainder of the game will feature the players fighting for a roster spot. The third and fourth [...]
