Would You Rather?

Bears fans, let’s play a little game called Would You Rather?  A lot has been made recently about the alleged availability of disgruntled Denver QB Jay Cutler.  I have been among many that have called for the Bears and Jerry Angelo to put together a “whatever it takes” package to go get a 26-year old Pro Bowl-caliber quarterback entering the prime of his career. Sure, he’s acting like a diva with the way new Head Coach Josh McDaniels handled the Matt Cassel situation, but I seem to recall a certain “Punky QB” that roamed the sidelines in the 80’s that had a bit of an attitude too.

Early in the offseason, a lot was also made about the supposed availability of Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin. Boldin had to play second fiddle to Larry Fitzgerald in a post-season run that culminated in the Cardinals’ first-ever Super Bowl appearance.  Boldin has been unhappy in Arizona for a couple of offseasons now. The Boldin trade talks have died down significantly, so I have to wonder if it’s a calm before the storm?

Both players mentioned would provide a tremendous lift to a Bears offense in need of additional weapons outside of Matt Forte and Devin Hester pass interference calls. In a dream world, we could fantasize about getting both guys. In reality, it would be a miracle to get even one.

So I ask you, Bears fans, would you rather the Bears go after Jay Cutler or Anquan Boldin?  Vote in the Polls section.

What would you be willing to give up for either?  I think Cutler would command at least a 1st and 3rd round pick this year and a provisional 1st next year.  Boldin might be gotten for a 1st and 4th.  Hit the Comments section to put your package together. I’ll make sure Jerry Angelo gets all the proposals.
