Urlacher speaks out on Cutler Controversey

Sports talk radio and the web were ablaze on Wednesday afternoon after former Bears and now Vikings receiver Bobby Wade broke the age-old rule of  “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” as he provided insight into what Brian Urlacher thinks of Jay Cutler on KFAN earlier in the day.   According to the Tribune Urlacher had this to say in response:

"“Oh please. I don’t think I would ever say that about one of my teammates,” Urlacher told the Tribune. “Look, Bobby Wade’s a friend of mine. He’s trying to get things going before training camp. That’s just Bobby being Bobby. I’m pretty sure Jay knows I wouldn’t say that about him.”Urlacher also found humorous a WSCR-AM report that he had to be restrained from going after Cutler during organized team activities.“I didn’t even practice,” Urlacher said, referring to a minor groin injury that limited his participation. “If anything, I called him a few names for zipping balls by my head with that cannon he has. Me having to be restrained? That’s funny.”“To tell you the truth, I think it’s just stupid,” he said. “I don’t really care. I think Jay knows me well enough to know I wouldn’t say that. The radio stations that talk about it? I really don’t [care] what they said. They are the [wimps].”"

Do I think that Urlacher called Cutler a pussy?  Yes.  Do I think it will make one bit of difference on how Urlacher, Cutler or the Bears play this season?  No.  Do I think Bobby Wade should keep his head on a swivel when he takes the field against the Beloved?  Hell yes!

Urlacher must be thinking, “I’ve got to stay out of Vegas.  First Paris Hilton, now this!?”
