Michael Vick headed to Chicago… as a Philadelphia Eagle

facebooktwitterreddit

The Michael Vick PETA Protest Tour will make a stop at Chicago’s lakefront this season.  Fear not, Bears fans; Michael Vick is NOT a member of the Chicago Bears.  Vick reportedly signed a 2-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles today.   Vick’s Eagles visit Soldier Field on November 22nd for a prime time Sunday night affair.  This was already bound to be a good game, and with the addition of Vick, the spotlight will be bright.  Let’s give him a warm Chicago welcome Bears fans!

Here’s what Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported:

"Sources told FOXSports.com that the quarterback has reached a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, with a one-year option.Vick’s agent, Joel Segal, confirmed the deal to FOXSports.com.Vick will make $1.6 million for the first year of the deal. The Eagles have an option on the second year for $5.2 million. The deal was reached Tuesday, but wasn’t finalized until Thursday."

Not sure exactly how Vick fits in Philly.  Sure, Chicago’s very own Donovan McNabb’s best years are probably behind him, but he’s still a legit #1 QB.  I guess the Eagles, who spent a 2nd round draft pick on Kevin Kolb, don’t believe he’s the quarterback of the future.  Not sure if Vick is either, but things just got a whole lot more interesting in Philadelphia.  If you thought Eagles fans were tough on Santa Claus, wait ’til they get a hold of Vick.
