The DeCon’s Week 16 Fantasy Picks – Championship/Holiday Edition

facebooktwitterreddit

This is the last weekend of fantasy football for most of you and if you are playing this week you are either playing for the Championship or 3rd place and either way, there is likely some money on the line.  This will be my last fantasy post for a little while, but I have had a blast and if you still read this religiously, I hope I have helped you out a little bit.

I am looking forward to next year and if you are out of the playoffs, your fantasy draft will be here before you know it.  The DeCon will again be in the little box on the side of the pews to hear your confessions.  Send an e-mail to beargoggles.decon@gmail.com or leave a comment to this post with your lineup questions and I will answer you with specific feedback on your given situation.

Because I always want to give you something to think about, here are a couple of plays I like for this week that you might not have been considering:  Larry Johnson vs Kansas City – LJ gets a chance to face his old team and his former favorite coach, Todd Haley.  LJ has been getting some quality touches since he signed with Cincy and I would bet Coach Lewis will see to it that he gets even more touches this week.  I see the Bengals going up big and letting LJ carry the load late in the game to put an exclamation point on the game.

Tony Romo @ Washington – Okay, I am the first to admit, I expected Romo to fold up in December like he has in past seasons, but in his last 4 games, Romo has averaged more than 300 yds passing and 2+ TDs and NO TURNOVERS.  Romo has been hot and if you saw the beatdown the Giants gave the Redskins last week, you can expect Romo to have a big game.

Jermichael Finley vs Seattle – Finley has quickly grown into one of Aaron Rodger’s favorite targets.  Finley has 21 recpts for 223 yds and 3 TDs over his last three games and GB is playing at home against a hapless Seattle team that got crushed by the equally hapless Buccaneers last week…in SEATTLE.  Go with Finley this week!

Other Nuggets

A couple weeks ago, I mentioned that Reggie Wayne owners should beware this week as he will be matched up with the Jets CB-extrordinare, Darrelle Revis…at the same time, I gave Roddy White owners the same advice for week 15 and White only managed 4 recpts for 33 yds against Revis.  Revis is a beast, but Wayne is generally a must-start, but when you factor in that the Colts could pull back the reins on the starters at any time…if you have another good matchup, you may consider benching Wayne.

Happy Holidays to all!!!  See you again next year if I don’t hear from you before the games this week.

Can I get an “Amen” ?
