Alex Brown on the Trading Block?

No…that wasn’t a typo…this tweet just came through and I nearly fell off my chair…Alex Brown, yes, that Alex Brown, #96 for the Bears is on the trading block…

NFLDAILYTIMES Oh, Wow, This Is Crazy: Bears Want To Trade Alex Brown: Because Mark Anderson is supposedly ready to handle the fu…

Twitter is one thing, cuz they will let anyone have a Twitter account, but Brad Biggs is the source for this rumor.  I feel Biggsy is a pretty credible source and because of that, I am absolutely speechless that the Bears would consider trading (or even cutting) one of their most consistent players, consummate professional and team captain (annointed at the end of last year).  And, they think Mark Anderson is ready???  WHO YOU CRAPPIN’???  With only 9.5 sacks over the last 3 seasons, I am not sure he is ready to make the team, let alone increase his plays.  Also, with the addition of Julius Peppers, or Julius the Great, as I know him, Alex could only become more of a force with all the attention Julius the Great will get from opposing O Lines.  Not to mention, Alex has the heart of a warrior and this is not how warriors should be treated.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, considering the Three Stooges in charge, but for all the great moves this offseason, this one could really put a damper on things…more to come when Boomer wakes up and tries to jump out out of his basement window.

Can I get an “Amen” ?

The DeCon has spoken…so let it be written, so let it be done…

DeCon – as I read this, I almost fell out of my chair and that was going to be my lead. Nice work reading my mind!

Are you freaking kidding me? Finally, it looks like the Bears will have the defensive end position solidified and they pull this crap?!!?!

Peppers is a huge addition, but he can’t do it alone. Mark Anderson and Izzy Idonije are nice players, but they can’t touch Brown’s consistency and the draft picks from last season – Melton and Gilbert – haven’t done jack shit yet.

I guess being the most consistent and solid defensive linemen over the last several years earns you a ticket out of town. This is a freaking JOKE!!!

Boomer – T.O. wants $5MM per year and Alex Brown is making . . . $5MM per year! Is this a coincidence?

  • Boomer

Hmm??? I heard that membership to their country club costs the McCaskey’s $5MM.

  • DHunter

It may not even be that involved. How about $5MM divided by 19 McCaskeys on the Bears payroll?

  • wgreen

trade alex brown and lovie and company is sure to be gone next year with noone else proven at De position except peppers

  • DeCon

@wgreen – do you think it would be worth it to tank the season just to oust the three stooges??? i am interested in what you all think???
