Matt Forte is penciled in as the starter and running back. Not big news, but there’s been a decent share of speculation that Chester Taylor would eclipse Forte as the starter, so it’s noteworthy that Forte and Taylor aren’t Forte/Taylor. More on the slashes later.
Perhaps the biggest surprise on the offensive side of the ball was where Dez Clark is on the depth chart. At first, I scrolled through all of the tight ends and didn’t see him listed. It’s only until I scrolled down to the H-back position where Clark is listed as the starter. It’s an interesting way that the Bears will try to keep 4 tight ends, with Kellen Davis and Rich Angulo left to battle it out for the 3rd tight end spot. Click the next page to hear what Dez has to say about his role with the Bears.
Hello fellow Bears fans!!! Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Mike Burzawa, but those closest to me know me as Boomer. It’s a nickname that I’ve had for many, many years (long before I ever heard of that guy on ESPN) and I thought I’d post under that alias. I’m the new lead blogger for Bear Goggles On (I can’t take credit for the name), where I’ll be sharing my views and perspectives on the team we all love.
I’m a lifelong Chicagoan and a die hard fan of Da Bears. I’ve been around for the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I mean, what was your favorite moment of the Cade McNown era??? The end, if you ask me!!! I have been going on an annual trip to an away Bears game for the last 13 years, so I’ve seen many different sports cities and I’m here to tell you that Chicago fans are second to none!!! As the greatest fans in the NFL, we deserve the greatest blog. I’ll do my best, but I’ll need your help.
I plan to share my take on the team and give a true fan’s perspective. Every once in a while, I’ll put the “Bear” goggles on and sip the Orange and Blue Kool Aide, but I’ll also “Lower the Boom” when I think it’s called for.
Most of all, I want to have some fun and the best way to do that is through your participation, so please feel free to comment, e-mail and share this site with other Bears fans.
