Classic Moments In Bears-Packers Rivalry: The Crazy Fan Catch

It’s Bears-Packer week, so it’s our pleasure to bring you this classic video from a Bears-Packers Monday Night game on September 11, 1995. This is probably the most amazing catch you’ll ever see.  Follow the flight of the ball as the PAT sails through the goal posts and into the crowd.  This guy is nuts!

You gotta love this guy.  His name is Michael Pantazis and he’s  from the north side of Chicago and he played football at Sullivan High School.  Of course he did.  Did you know he played both offense and defense?   He used to have a website, but the link I found is dead.  I would love to see how Michael is doing today, so if you know Michael, have him shoot me an e-mail at [email protected]

Boomer, show the freaking tape of the Packer slamming our defending Super Bowl shoulder to the ground 3 seconds after the whistle. Or the hit Payton took 15 yards out of bounds on the Packer sideline.

What’s with this trivial BS….. This is a rivalry game dude, BEAR DOWN!

    • Boomer

Hold your water Windy. I’m building up to something. First some fluff pieces and jokes, then the good stuff. Stay tuned…

I was actually at that game and remember it. I watched the play and thought that I saw it happen. But I looked around to everyone sitting with us and nobody said anything or acted like anythiing unusual happened. So I kept my mouth shut. It was like my eyes had fooled me somehow, I mean who would actually jump into the tunnel like that to make a catch like that? I thought I was crazy.

    • Boomer

Great story Troy. Your eyes did not deceive you – there actually was a crazy former high school football player who jumped into the tunnel and lived to tell his story on national TV no less.

  • Windy Cynic

Why were you scared to share your vision Troy? It’s ok to be wrong and it’s ok to be right.

When we stop having observations, we start being fooled.

Too many political metaphors to insert here…..

Ok one…. does Lovie have a very Bushie vibe to him? Deer in the headlights mumbling the party line while maintaining complete corporate secrecy and a “buddy policy” of hiring.

    Larry Mayer as spokeswoman.

    Yeah, sounds familiar.

Don’t be timid Troy, the truth seems fresh, but it’s always there.

The only thing better than that catch is the dudes hair. That probably like the most awesome mullet of all time.
