Bears vs Packers – Monday Night Showdown Madden Sim Prediction

facebooktwitterreddit

Our in-house Madden expert Sam predicted a close game between the Bears and Cowboys last week, but had the Cowboys prevailing in OT, so the season record on Bears picks moves to 1-1.  He’s also running sims for all of the other NFL games every week, so be sure to check ’em out.

The Bears get set to host the Green Bay Packers to wrap up Week 3 in a matchup for early control of the NFC North.  Both teams come into Monday’s action at 2-0, but only one was really expected to come in with an unblemished record.  After a shaky start in their win over the Lions, Bears-mania is sweeping Chicago thanks to an unexpected win against the Cowboys in Dallas.  Mike Martz is a genius, Jay Cutler can walk on water and even Lovie Smith ain’t all that bad.   Winning cures all.  On with our simulation:

Jay Cutler picks up right where he left off, hooking up with Earl Bennett for a short TD pass. Heck, they even have the Bears in the throwback uniforms they’ll wear. Those guys are good.

Mason Crosby answers with a field goal to get the Packers on the board, but the Bears end the first quarter staked to a 7-3 lead.

More highlights, scoring summary and stats after the jump.

The Bears offense seems to get a good handle of the Packers D as Cutler carves them up for a 60 TD pass to Devin Aromashodu.

The Bears defense keeps the Packers in check as the Bears head to the half up 14-3.

To open up the third quarter, the Bears stretch the field again, this time a 76-yard Cutler to Johnny Knox  TD bomb.

The Bears add a pair of Robbie Gould field goals before the offense strikes again, with Desmond Clark the next to get into the end zone on a 6-yard Cutler TD.

The route is on as the Bears head to the 4th quarter up 34-7. A Robbie Gould FG to start the 4th and a pair of garbage time Packer TD’s, long Greg Jennings TD

followed by a John Kuhn 1-yard TD plunge

wrap up the scoring, but not before the Bears wrap up a 34-17 win for early control of the NFC North and sending the cheeseheads home with their tails between their legs.

I really hope the Madden 11 Simulator is right on this one. Somehow I think this one will be a little closer, but stranger things have happened.
