Halftime Analysis: Bears and Bills Tied at 7

facebooktwitterreddit

The Bears and Buffalo Bills are squaring off in a game up at the Rogers Center in Toronto Canada and it’s tied up 7-7 at the half.  The Bears score comes courtesy of a 4-yard TD pass from Jay Cutler to tight end Greg Olsen.  The Bills put together a 2-minute scoring drive following a rare Robbie Gould missed FG, with Ryan Fitzpatrick hooking up with Roscoe Parrish.    A couple of quick points of instant analysis:

  • It’s nice that Lovie Smith has the boys ready to go.  The Bears look sloppy, committing 6 penalties for 40 yards, a lot of them of the false start/mental mistake variety.
  • The Bears cannot run the ball.  Period.  Jay Cutler leads the Bears with 3 carries for 31 yards.  Otherwise Forte and Taylor are combined for 11 carries for 14 yards.
  • Cutler looks better this week, particularly in recognizing the blitzes and hot routes.
  • The Bills don’t look like an 0-7 team.  Then again, does that have anything to do with the Bears???
