Brian Urlacher is NFC Defensive Player of the Month

Brian Urlacher added some hardware to his trophy case, picking up the NFC Defensive Player of the Month Award for December.  This caps off quite a year for the veteran linebacker, whose return has had a major impact on the Bears defense.

In December, Urlacher racked up an NFC-leading 49 tackles to go along with a forced fumble and 1.5 sacks while leading the Bears to their first NFC North title since 2006.

If it wasn’t for Michael Vick’s ridiculous comeback this season, Urlacher would have to be considered the front runner for Comeback Player of the Year and frankly, I don’t think that coming back from prison should count as a comeback.

Hopefully this isn’t the last piece of hardware that Urlacher picks up this season.  There’s still a little trophy that he and his teammates would love to pick up in Dallas.

Congrats Brian!
