Ndamukong Suh Calls Bears Line “Over the Hill”

Olin Kreutz, Ndamukong Suh has a message for you – You’re Getting Old.   The Detroit Lions’ reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year called out the Bears offensive line.

Here’s his quote from the Detroit Free Press:

"“I think they have a good offensive line, but it’s a matter that they’re definitely trying to get over the hill, and they’re getting there,” Suh said Monday. “It’s great guys, but they need some younger guys that can step in, and they started to move towards that a little bit in the guard position when we played against them the second time this year, and I think they made the right decision in doing that. But I think that’s one of their big things they need to improve.”"

Someone give Suh a vote for Executive of the Year to go along with his ROY hardware.  How could he possibly figure out that the Bears offensive line, which gave up a league-leading 56 sacks need help along the offensive line?

It’s clear the Bears need to improve along the offensive front to cope with the likes of Suh, BJ Raji and the rest of the up-and-coming defensive linemen in the NFC North alone.  It’s unclear whether Chris Williams figures into the equation at guard but expect the Bears to take at least one interior linemen in the draft.   For my money, I’d love to see Florida’s Mike Pouncey to slide to the Bears at #29 in the first round.
